A new business district in Coventry for the automotive sector

Automotive companies are based all across the UK. In many locations they are close together, occupying business districts, technological parks and similar areas. This can offer big advantages to the businesses, putting them in close proximity to prospective partners. In turn it can stimulate development and provide big rewards.

The West Midlands will soon become home to a new business district. A 24 hectare site in Whitley, just a handful of miles outside of Coventry, will be the focus of a £35 million investment. This will create a zone for local manufacturers and other firms from the supply chain. The location is ideal because it is in close proximity to a Jaguar Land Rover engineering facility.

The funding for the project is being provided by a combination of public and private funds. This will pay for improvements in infrastructure and site development. As part of this a new bridge will be created to connect the site and the JLR facility. Local transport links will be improved too, including connecting the site to the A45. This provides easy connection to the M1, M5, and Birmingham centre.

The development of the site is expected to generate in excess of 2,700 jobs. This would be a boon to the local economy and a further boost to the number of jobs supported by the automotive sector as a whole.
