The automotive sector offers jobs in a wide range of disciplines, from engineering to design and administration. This means it can attract people looking for a wide array of careers and give them the opportunity to secure a job that satisfies their interests. These roles can give people the skills they need to succeed and enjoy a brilliant career.
Over the last few years the automotive sector in the UK has enjoyed impressive growth. This has led to expansion across the industry and created jobs across all related disciplines, including highly skilled positions such as various aspects of manufacturing.
Contechs recently announced they will create 50 new roles at their site in Warwickshire. The design, engineering and trim manufacturing specialist recently secured a seven year contract to deliver automotive interiors. As a result they need to improve their facilities and expand their workforce to meet the new higher level of demand.
The company is planning to invest £450,000 in the Warwickshire site to create new offices and upgrade existing facilities. This will help them to satisfy the new contract and further secure their position in the sector. The work on the facility needs to be finished by August this year so that production can begin.
The 50 new jobs will take the total workforce at Contechs to over 950 across three sites. The roles will include a number of skilled positions and give new employees the opportunity to learn the skills that make the company the supplier of choice for a wide number of notable vehicle manufacturers.
The expansion at Contechs could be as a result of growth at other manufactures based close to the Warwickshire site. Jaguar Land Rover has facilities close by, as do Bentley and Lotus. If this is the cause it is a prime example of how large companies can create a ripple effect lower down the supply chain and lead other businesses to expand when they do likewise.
At John Gibson Associates we love seeing the automotive sector in the UK expand and the creation of new jobs in the exciting industry. We are on hand to help businesses with their automotive recruitment drives as well as supporting individuals seeking to earn a career.
