After trialling the concept for 2 years in London, Mazda Motor are ready to embark rolling it out to 5 retailers across the UK.
MyWay, which was developed in 2015, currently employs 10 “Brand Champions” who work to bring a high level of customer service and product knowledge to sales – similar to product geniuses that are used by brands such as BMW and Kia. The team work remotely across London bringing test drives to customers in their homes on a completely commission-free basis.
Since their launch the program has been responsible for 375 new-vehicle sales by allowing potential customers to arrange online to have a Brand Champion deliver a model of their chose to their home for a test drive. All sales discussion, finance agreement or purchase would be made at the customer’s home.
Now the successful MyWay concept is to be trialled across retail groups in the UK to influence existing retailers to offer something to customers which is a bespoke, face-to-face service. With the hope to roll the concept to the rest of the retail network.

On Thursday 12th July, 25 years after the first festival took place, the Goodwood Festival of Speed returned to the Duke of Richmond’s grounds in West Sussex.
Taking place over a span of 4 days, the festival celebrates the best of the motor industry all in one place. This year in particular they commemorated Porches 70th anniversary with an extraordinary 170 foot sculpture which stood tall in front of Goodwood house.
Leading the Goodwood Hill Climb, the Volkswagen I.D.R set records as an electric car with a winning time of 43.86s. Another electric car powered into second place, the NextEV NIO EP3, with a time of 44.32s. Followed closely by BMWs’ E36 M3 who made third place.
Leading manufacturers such as: Porsche, Aston Martin and Nissan all showcased their new models and with an event as exciting as the Festival of Speed, it is evident that the motor industry is getting stronger year-on-year. Ford’s new and exclusive Business Week will commence this Saturday 2nd of June; targeting drivers of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The UK’s largest dealership network is inviting businesses in the market for new company cars or commercial vehicles to explore Fords’ latest range. Ford Directors have reportedly commented that Ford plays a key role in keeping Britain moving thanks to the volumes of its cars and vans driven by businesses.
Officials have also stated that almost half of the private sector turnover comes from SMEs, but it is reported that SMEs find suppliers and lenders hard to work with. Rolls-Royce unveil their ‘Cullinan’ S.U.V – not just a luxury car but a serious competitor to the infamous Range Rover and Bentley Bentayga.
Following requests from consumers who desired a more luxurious S.U.V, C.E.O Torsten Muller-Otvos announced this week the £250,000 ‘Cullinan’. Named after the world’s largest diamond, ‘Cullinan’ is not just stylish – it is a full-capacity off-roader and to describe its capability the Goodwood Company has devised the slogan “Effortless, Everywhere”.
Full-scale production is expected to begin in the second half of this year – just in time for first sales to be in before Christmas. Manufacture of the Cullinan will predominately be at Rolls-Royces’ two key sites; Munich and Goodwood (Southern England). It is expected that every Rolls-Royce, regardless of style, will be made on a single production line in Goodwood in the near future.
A member of the BMW family, and with recently reported news of recalls this is welcomed positive news to the group; Rolls-Royce is going from strength to strength and with production in the UK reported to be in high demand, there isn’t a better time to get into this exciting industry.

It has been 70 years since the first Land Rover debuted at the 1948 Amsterdam Auto Show and they haven’t showed any signs of slowing down.
To celebrate the milestone, Land Rover announced in a special live YouTube broadcast that they are working to restore one of three original cars from the very first motor show – a car that was found in a garden after going missing for 63 years!
Land Rover Classic have announced they are also building just 150 of the original defender models to mark this occasion. This follows shortly after the brand revealed production plans for a redesigned Defender model known as Defender Works V8, meeting the demand for a faster, more powerful version.
