Attractive new apprenticeship roles

Since 1971, GTG Training has been helping people to secure jobs in a variety of sectors, including automotive, transport, health and safety, and IT. They have become a household name over the years and provided such a high quality service that Arnold Clark Group purchased the business in 2003. Since then, they have continue to expand and advance, earning plaudits from numerous prestigious professional bodies. They are now firmly established as one of the leading training providers in the UK.

The philosophy of GTG is to invest in people and give them the skills they need to secure a career and continue to succeed. The parent company believes in investing in talent through apprenticeships and training schemes. In fact they recently announced that they plan to take on 250 new apprentices in the summer of 2016. This will create great opportunities for people aged between 16 and 19.

As part of the scheme, Arnold Clark assigns each apprentice a mentor. This builds a relationship between the two and ensures all apprentices receive the support they need to thrive. It also gives them the chance to work directly with a knowledgeable specialist in the field they want a career in. Alongside this, apprentices shadow other technicians to gain a much wider skill set.

The apprenticeships also include spending weekly blocks at GTG Training centres. This occurs periodically over the course of the programme. This rounds out their training and lets each apprentice study towards earning recognised qualifications.

The apprentice scheme has proven to be a real success for Arnold Clark as well as for the apprentices themselves. Many of them have gone on to secure careers with the company in a variety of roles. The approach really is a mutually beneficial one and the new places are expected to be in very high demand when the summer arrives.
